Idaho Questions We Handle Every Season
Your federal return is only half the picture. These are the Idaho items that come up most.
Idaho Individual Returns
Full-year residents file Idaho Form 40 alongside the federal return. We handle Idaho additions and subtractions, the child tax credit, and the Food Tax Credit.
Moving To or From Idaho
Part-year residents and nonresidents with Idaho income file Form 43. We sort out which income belongs to which state and the credit for tax paid elsewhere.
Idaho Business Returns
S corporations file Idaho Form 41S and partnerships file Form 65, with Idaho K-1s for each owner. We prepare them with the federal return so the numbers match.
Idaho Deadlines
Idaho generally follows the federal deadline for individual returns. Our tax deadline calendar lists the federal dates for the year ahead.
Official forms and guidance are on the Idaho State Tax Commission website.
Common Questions
Working With Us in the Magic Valley
Do you have an office I can visit?
We don’t have a public office. We’re based in Twin Falls, and we meet by video or phone, or in person by appointment at your home or business in the Magic Valley.
Which areas do you meet in person?
Twin Falls and the surrounding Magic Valley. If you’re farther away, we’re glad to work together by video and phone instead.
I moved to or from Idaho this year. Can you help?
Yes. A move usually means a part-year Idaho return (Form 43) and a return for the other state. We prepare both and coordinate the credit for tax paid to another state where it applies.
Do you prepare Idaho returns for businesses?
Yes. We prepare federal and Idaho returns for S corporations (Idaho Form 41S), partnerships and multi-member LLCs (Idaho Form 65), along with the owner K-1s.
How do fees work?
You’ll know the price before any work begins. Fees are fixed and agreed up front, based on your situation. See our pricing page for starting rates.
Is it better to work with someone local?
It depends on how you like to work. Our guide Virtual CPA vs Local CPA: How to Choose walks through the trade-offs. With us, you don’t have to pick: work virtually, or meet in person by appointment.
